Each week Comedy.com’s Comic Channel publishes “The Comic Round Up.” We check out what’s happening each Wednesday in the world of comics. Because as every fanboy knows, Wednesday is the day the comic book store gets new comics! Read this before you get your fix as we scour the comic pages for the best and not-so-best of the lot.
Anarchy Studios/Harris Comics are still making Vampirella like its 1972. This week Vampirella Second Coming #1 is out with four different covers. One is created by Joe Jusko, so why even have the others?
Archie Comics has released their usual stuff plus Sonic The Hedgehog #204. Yes, that’s not a misprint, 204, because there were so many unanswered questions. This is like crack to a six-year-old apparently.
Bluewater Productions continues to beat a dead horse and is offering Female Force #6 Condoleezza Rice and Political Power #2 Barack Obama. It’s not every torturer that gets immortalized in her own comic book. Thanks Bluewater. We look forward to your six-part series on Chairman Mao.

Boom! Studios continues to license whatever Disney has left and is coming out with Finding Nemo Reef Rescue #3 of 4 and Muppet Robin Hood #4 of 4. Both comics have two covers so that your kid will accidentally buy two copies.
Dark Horse is releasing Life & Times of Martha Washington in the 21st Century in hardcover because everyone loves a comic book that costs $100.
DC Comics is publishing Booster Gold #24 as if anyone would know who the Hell he is. Personally, we prefer crazy concepts like Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash The Nightmare Warriors#3 of 6, because you’re never gonna see that in a movie or on a movie theater sign less than 20 feet long. Red Robin #4 is out because, ya know, Robin’s so cool there had to be room for another. If your kids aren’t hypnotized by the military enough through television, make sure you get them Shield #1 so they go straight into the army after the eighth grade.
Fantagraphics has something out called Squirrel Machine in hardcover. We hope it’s a gun that fires squirrels, but either way it sounds cool.
If you’re still wishing Buffy was back on the air, IDW is publishing Angel Only Human #2 of 4, you pathetic fangirl. Also, Star Trek Nero #2 is out because who needs Captain Kirk, Spock or the rest when you can read a comic about a villain that only appeared in one movie?
Over at Image, someone decided to do a Dead Space comic book called Dead Space Extraction one-shot. Although its an awesome video game, we don’t know how you expect to sell this with such a God-awful cover.

And if you really want to p*ss your comic book allowance money, Witchblade #130 hits the stands.
At Marvel Comics, the Dark Reign crossover (which is nothing like the Blackest Night crossover at DC) continues. Dark Reign Young Avengers #4 of 5 has lots of lightning bolts on the cover. Get your fill of the Max version of the Punisher in The Punisher #74. Who knows how long before Disney takes his guns away? Worst title of the year goes to War of Kings Who Will Rule one-shot. Who is naming these things now? We’re guess it’s Stan Lee’s eight year-old great grandkid.
We like the look of a zombie comic called Rotten #3 over a Moonstone. Brain eating entertainment isn’t quite tapped yet.
If you like The Tick, New England Comics has the Paul the Samurai trade out. He’s kind of like a Japanese version of The Tick.
Finally, if you’re tired of getting all your Manga from Viz, check out Yen Press. They have a bunch of books including something called Bamboo Blade Vol 2. We didn’t know you could make a blade out of bamboo, but since all our knowledge comes from comics that shouldn’t surprise you.

Posted by Tony DiGerolamo who is kind of like a New Jersey version of The Tick.
