MTV: Where did your edge go? You asked the hilarious online sketch group Fatal Farm to create a series of shorts for the MTV Movie Awards. They came back to you with mutant-faced versions of “Dark Knight,” “Wolverine” and “Star Trek.” Well, did you expect anything less crazy from the creators of “Lasagna Cat” and the “Ducktales: Child Abduction” video?
The MTV Movie Awards really could have used Fatal Farm this year. There were some good moments, like “Doubt: The Video Game,” but other than that, the show seemed kind of flat. Ironically, viral video guy turned “SNL” superstar Andy Samberg hosted the awards this year, so you’d think they would want more “viral” style content in the show, but we guess not. We, on the other hand, would like to see the weird-face version of “Sex and the City” as its own show.
Edit: After writing this, we read that the “Doubt” piece was created by Fatal Farm. Not surprised, because it’s so funny.
This post was written by Geoffrey Golden, who is glad that “Daria” is finally coming to DVD.
