
For those of you wondering when Spider-Man and Mickey Mouse would finally have an adventure together, you were met with scornful laughs. “That’s not possible,” folks would say. “They’re owned by different studios.” Well, true believers, the floodgates have been opened. Disney is buying Marvel for $4 billion, which means that a ton of bizarre crossovers are now legally possible. We can’t wait to see them. Here are our favorite 7 Oddball And Now Entirely Possible Disney And Marvel Crossovers.
7. What If Tony Stark Found The Genie During The Civil War?
In another thrilling “What If” comic, we see how the Marvel Civil War would have played out if Tony Stark had the power of The Genie from “Aladdin” at his side. Iron Man still wins the Civil War, only now there are a lot more quick-fire references to California surfer dudes and William Shatner’s spoken-word renditions of songs in the mix. (One-shot comic book)
6. Wolverine Vs. The Gang From “The Goof Troop”
Wolverine, roaming across the country for clues to his past, has an accident with his motorcycle. When shifty Pete sells Logan some bad tires, Wolverine looks to get revenge. Pete tells Goofy there’s a crazy man with metal claws after him, so Goofy, Max, Pete and P.J. barricade themselves in Goof’s house. Can they prevent a pissed-off Wolverine from getting inside? (Half-hour animated special)
5. Marvel Zombies Vs. Monsters From “Monsters Inc.”
It’s the horror match-up of the century! Looking for new worlds to conquer, the brain-hungry zombie versions of the Marvel heroes stumble upon Boo’s closet to find Pixar’s world of fuzzy, child-scaring monsters, ripe for the slaughtering. Will Mike and Sully come to the rescue? Can they help Boo, who has been turned into the most vicious zombie of them all? (Direct-to-DVD animated movie)
4. The Hulk’s Ill-Fated Visit To “The Muppet Show”
Scientist Bruce Banner visits the cast of “The Muppet Show” to warn them that there are dangerous levels of radiation emanating inside the Muppet theater. Kermit dismisses the threat as Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s Atom Smasher and Frozen Yogurt Machine, much to Banner’s frustration. Animal then decides to bite and wrestle the physicist. When Bruce inevitably Hulks out, he levels the theater and kills many, many Muppets. Especially Pepe. Hey, it’s not easy being green. (Half-hour pilot)
3. Cory Moves In With The X-Men
Cory’s dad moves from the White House when he gets a new job as head chef for the X-Men in a Disney Channel series, “Cory In The X-Mansion!” However, Cory is still up to his crazy schemes, trying to get Gambit to enter a poker tournament and use Beast’s engineering lab to create a rival to the iPhone. (“It’s called a cPhone, and it’s named after this guy right here,” says Cory, pointing to himself.) How long before Emma Frost wipes his mind? Hint: Season two is the “coma season.” (Live action television series)
2. Galactus Eats A Small, Small World
A fresh new twist on the classic Disneyland ride. In a pre-video, Silver Surfer warns you that your world is about to be eaten by Galactus, and that you’d better escape Earth! However, try as you might to escape in your little boat, eventually the Eater of Worlds devours you and all your singing loved ones from around the world. Sure, it ends on a downer note, but Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride ends with you in Hell, so there you go. (Disneyland attraction)
1. “Spider-Man 4: Spidey Vs. Disney Villain Sinister Six”
In “Spider-Man 4,” the webslinger will fight a new Sinister Six made up of some of Disney’s best rogues: Ursula, Maleficent, Captain Hook, Scar and the Siamese Cats from “Lady In The Tramp.” Can Spider-Man outmatch Ursula in giant octopus form? How about when Ursula teams with Maleficent’s giant dragon? And will Spider-Man punch some serious pussy, taking out Scar and the Siamese Cats? Our “Good Movie Sense” is tingling. (Live action feature film with Sony’s blessing)
