We know what this chart was trying to say. “Look at these five brilliant TV shows canceled before their time and compare the number of episodes they had to ‘Family Matters.’” Whine, whine, whine.
We see it differently. We see this as a major victory for geek poster-child Steven Q. Urkel and how awesome he is. Imagine what our “so-called lives” would be like without the Urkel Dance, Urkel Bot, Stefan Urquelle, the Urkel Transformation Chamber, the Urkel Cloning Machine, the Urk Pad, Wacky Tacky Glue, Bruce Lee Urkel and “Did I do that?” They’d be terrible!
So we officially salute Urkel as being the best that television has to offer. He’s the nerd who rules the television landscape. Of course, “Freaks and Geeks” was about nerds too, and a much better show than “Family Matters”. We believe it’s a geek-eat-geek world out there…
