Conan O’Brien’s Week In Geek: Shatner, Anime and Harry Potter

Friday July 31, 2009 3:00 PM

Network television has been getting progressively nerdier, with shows like Chuck and The Big Bang Theory, but the new Crown Jewel of Geek TV is The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. With Jay Leno gone, the iconic late night show has become a geek’s paradise. They’ve gotten rowdy at a middle school science fair and debated the merits of Twitter with the hilarious Twitter Tracker sketches.

This week, they really upped the dork humor, with videos featuring a Harry Potter friend getting in trouble, Star Trek legend William Shatner riffing on politics, and Conan himself dubbing a popular TV anime. Join us for Conan’s incredible Week In Geek:

3. Dumbledore Does Hollywood

Can a Tony Stark party video be far behind?

2. Shatner Reads Sarah Palin’s Speech

A fitting tribute from the man who made the song “Rocket Man”… something else entirely.

1. Conan and Andy Dub “Ghost In The Shell”

They may not understand anime, but that doesn’t mean they won’t voice it!

Bonus: Jimmy Fallon’s Disastrous Comic-Con

Not to be left out of the geek parade, fellow NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon went to Comic-Con 2009 in order to pitch his superhero idea. It went REALLY well.
