Weezer For Nintendo Entertainment System

Friday July 24, 2009 11:00 AM

Get ready for the ultimate expression of your nerdy childhood. 8-bit music label Pterodactyl Squad has gotten a bunch of video game music composers together to create a free album of Weezer covers. That’s right: old school video games and Weezer, the band who helped found geek rock – could it be any more early 90’s?

The best tracks? Definitely check out the spooky Castlevania version of Island In The Sun, the sped-up covers of Buddy Holly and Hash Pipe, as well as this hilariously meticulous cover of El Scorcho. Oh man, I should dig that Weezer pocket protector out of the closet.
