6 Ways the Insight Differs from the Prius

Wednesday April 29, 2009 10:28 AM

Check out these two photos. The first one is Honda’s brand new 2010 Insight hybrid. The second is the 2009 Toyota Prius.

Honda assures us that they were not trying to completely rip off the design of the uber-popular Prius, and we take them at their word. C’mon, look at how completely different these two vehicle designs are.

Here’s six major differences:

  1. Insight’s gas door is round. Prius’ is square.
  2. Insight’s six-spoke hubcaps are slightly cooler than Prius’.
  3. There’s a 2″ length difference on those radio antennas.
  4. In no way does Honda’s “Integrated Motor Assist” sound anything like a thesaurus version of Toyota’s “Hybrid Synergy Drive.”
  5. Insight’s paint job is “Alibaster Silver Metallic,” while Toyota is “Classic Silver Metallic.” Duh.
  6. And last but not least… They have different names.

Nice job, Honda. Nice job.
