Groovy news, everyone. According to the people at SonicState.com, Moog music might finally make a comeback, thanks to a new release of Arturia’s MiniMoog V2 software.
Three decades ago, Moog systems delivered the high tech sound in pop music. It was the keyboard and electronic system that allowed the engineering geeks who had taken music lessons, to join cool bands. Or at least, they could enhance the music in the recording studio.
The initial reviews of Arturia’s release look promising. But is that a good thing? Well, we’re not exactly sure. On the one hand, a top-notch digital Moog system will better help people re-create the sound of a real Moog set-up. On the other hand, do we really want more Moog music?
What’s that, brother? You’re unfamiliar with the outta sight, 70’s sounds that a Moog system delivers? Check out this Schaefer beer ad for a super-dooper demonstration. Right on!
Now decide for yourself. You want more of that infecting your ears? The verdict is still out.
